Addition # 6 - Notice that the crown on this design floats… This is to give the faceter the option to cut a deeper or shallower crown (depending on the rough) on the fly. On a shallow stone C2 can be left off and just cut C4 to meet the girdle. This is ideal for dark "c" axis Tourmaline, especially if the crown is lowered.
