Cornered: Online Faceting Designs & Diagrams
Jeff Graham’s Cornered is a checkerboard cut suitable for gem material that’s too dark or large for a standard design.

Cutting Remarks
Cornered is a "Money Cut." You can facet it quickly and easily. Plus, it performs very well. Checkerboard designs generally sell well, too, so I'm always looking for new ways to cut them.
I wanted something that would work well with saturated material, like the Nigerian rubellite in the photo. This stone was just too dark and too big for a regular checkerboard. My design also makes a good choice for a beginner's cut, especially for someone who hasn't tried a checkerboard yet.
As the stone gets large (over 8 mm), especially in lighter colored material, I recommend cutting a table to meet C4.
